Fee And Charges:

The joining and annual fee of this HDFC Diners Club Privilege Credit Card is ₹ 2500 + Taxes and if you want to get your annual fee waived, then you will have to spend Rs 3 lakh or more from this card in a year. During the recent changes made to this credit card by HDFC Bank, there has been no change in the criteria for joining, annual fee and getting the annual fee waived off.

Welcome Benefit:

If you spend Rs 75,000 within 90 days after the issue of this credit card, then you are given annual membership of Swiggy One and Times Prime as welcome benefit. If you fulfill this criteria then membership of both Swiggy One and Times Prime is unlocked for you.

HDFC Bank has made some changes in Welcome Benefits in this update. The welcome benefits mentioned above are all updated features. Earlier in this card you used to get membership of Amazon Prime and MMT Black, which has now been changed.

Along with this, you were also given a renewal benefit in this card, in which if you spent Rs 8 lakh in a year, then the annual membership of Swiggy One, Amazon Prime, and MMT Black was provided to you again. But HDFC Bank has now discontinued this benefit.

Milestone Benefit:

If you spend Rs 1.5 lakh in a calendar quarter with this credit card, then you are given a voucher of Rs 1500 from any one of the brands Marriott Experience or Decathlon or Barbeque Nation or O2 Spa or Lakme Salon. HDFC Bank has just added this benefit which is quite good.

Non Spend Based Benefits:

In this credit card, you and the Add-On Card Holder are provided the facility of 2 worldwide airport lounge access per quarter. This means that overall you are given the facility of total 8 complimentary domestic and international lounge access in a year and this facility is available for both Primary and Add-on cardholders.

But now HDFC Bank has made another change here that you can avail the benefit of lounge access only when you spend Rs 15000 in the last quarter. Almost all banks are now imposing this limit on lounge access and perhaps that is why HDFC Bank has also updated it.

Earlier this number of lounge access was 12 i.e. you were provided the facility of total 12 domestic and international lounge access in a year but now HDFC has reduced it to 8. And this limit of Rs 15000 in one quarter has just been added by HDFC Bank.

Along with this, earlier you were also given 2 Golf Games in one quarter in this diners club privilege credit card, but now HDFC Bank has discontinued the entire feature of Golf Games from this card.

Another new benefit has been added to this credit card in which you are offered Buy 1 Get 1 Free Ticket on BookMyShow. You get a free ticket worth ₹250 with one ticket on weekend shows (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) on BookMyShow and this offer is available twice in a month. You can book on any day of the week but your show should be on one of these three days. Now it is not necessary that you buy these tickets only for movies, you can buy tickets for anything from Movies, Events, Concerts, Plays, Sports & Activities, Excluding BMS Stream & F&B on BookMyShow and on everything you will get a free ticket worth ₹ 250 along with one ticket.

Spend Based Benefits:

You get 4 reward points for every ₹ 150 spent on this credit card. But you do not get any reward points on some selected categories like Rent Payments, wallet reloads, EMI, Fuel and Cash withdrawal.

Here you get to see capping on transactions related to insurance and grocery. Through this credit card, you can earn maximum 2000 reward points in a day on insurance related transactions. And you can earn maximum 2000 reward points in a month on grocery only.

HDFC Bank has not made any changes in reward points. This was the reward structure of this card earlier and this is the reward structure now.

SmartBuy Accelerated Reward points:

  1. There has also been no change in the Accelerated Reward points available on HDFC SmartBuy. If you spend on Hotel Booking or IGP.com through SmartBuy, you get 10X i.e. 40 Reward Points for every ₹ 150.
  2. If you spend on Instant Vouchers, red Bus, and Imagine Tresor on Smart Buy, you get 5X i.e. 20 reward points for every ₹ 150.
  3. Along with this, if you spend on HDFC SmartBuy on IRCTC and Flipkart, you get 3X i.e. 12 reward points for every Rs 150 spent.

These accelerated reward points are credited to your account within 90 working days. There is also a capping on the extra points you earn through SmartBuy.

You can earn maximum 2000 accelerated reward points in a day and maximum 4000 reward points in a month through HDFC SmartBuy.

Earlier you used to get 2X reward points on weekend dining on this card but now HDFC Bank has discontinued this feature.

Zomato and Swiggy Offer:

Another new offer has been introduced in this credit card in which you will get 5X reward points on spending on Zomato and Swiggy. Enjoy 5X Reward Points on Swiggy and Zomato orders. You can also earn an additional 4X points per month on these purchases, capped at 2,500 bonus points.

Reward Points Redemption Process:

  • If you redeem reward points in statement credit i.e. cashback, then you get the value of one reward point equal to Rs 0.20. You can redeem a maximum of 50,000 reward points in the form of cashback in a calendar month.
  • If you redeem these reward points against product catalog or vouchers, then you get the value of one reward point ₹ 0.35.
  • If you redeem these reward points for booking hotels and flights through HDFC SmartBuy, then you get the value of one reward point equal to ₹ 0.50. But here you have to keep one thing in mind that while booking flights or hotels, you can pay only 70% of your total amount through reward points. You will have to pay the remaining 30% amount from your card only. And you can redeem a maximum of 50,000 reward points against flights and hotel booking in a calendar month.
  • You can also convert these reward points into Air Miles and here you get the value of one reward point equal to 0.50 Airmile. You can convert these points into Club Vistara, Krisflyer, and Intermiles.
  • Now another new redemption option has been added here in which you can avail vouchers of some premium restaurants. Here you get the value of one point equal to ₹ 0.50.

Now HDFC Bank has made many major changes in this HDFC Diners Club Privilege Credit Card. HDFC Bank has removed the annual membership of Amazon Prime from the welcome benefits of this credit card, which is quite bad. And earlier you used to get renewal benefits in this credit card, which has also been discontinued by HDFC Bank.

Along with this, the number of lounges in this credit card has also been reduced in HDFC Bank and a quarterly spending limit has also been set to avail the facility of these lounges. And the facility of golf games has also been discontinued from this credit card.

Along with this, HDFC Bank has also made some positive changes in this credit card like the offer of Buy 1 get 1 Free Ticket on BookMyShow and 5x reward points on Swiggy and Zomato. The acceptance of Diners Club credit cards is also less than that of VISA, Mastercard and Rupay cards.
