HDFC Millennia Debit Card Vs Platinum Debit Card: Detailed Comparison

Rewards:

Using the HDFC Platinum Debit Card, you will get 1 cashback point on every ₹ 100 you pay for your telecom and utility bills. And if you spend in categories like Grocery, Super Market, Restaurants, Apparels and Entertainment, you will get 1 cashback point for every ₹ 200. In this card you can get maximum cashback of ₹ 750 in 1 month. Apart from all the categories that I have told you, you will not get any cashback points on any category like fuel surcharge waiver, wallet reloads.

On the other hand, if we talk about HDFC Millennia Debit Card, then if you do shopping using Payzapp and Smart Buy, then you will get 5% cashback there. Using this debit card, if you do any online spending, then you will get 2.5% cashback there. And if you reload your wallet or do any offline spending with this debit card, then there you will get 1% cashback point which you do not get to see in HDFC Platinum Debit Card. You can see these cashback points in your net banking after two days of transaction.

Here you have to keep one thing in mind that to get all these cashback points, your minimum transaction value should be ₹ 400, only then you will be able to get these cashback points and here you can get maximum cashback points of ₹ 400 in 1 month only. . And there are some categories such as fuel, jewellery, business related payments, Credit Card Payment and Insurances Premium, you will not get any cashback points of any kind.

Right now if seen here, HDFC Millennia Debit Card is clearly better because in HDFC Platinum Debit Card you get cashback points only in some limited categories and in Millennia Debit Card you get cashback points in more categories. Although the capping of the monthly cashback points of the Millennia Debit Card is a little less, but in this you will get cashback points in more categories.

If we talk about the Smart Buy Rewards system of both these debit cards, then you get to see the same reward points in both these debit cards. You will get Up to 5% cashback in both Millennia and Platinum debit cards and the cashback capping of both these debit cards is also the same which is ₹1000.

Airport Lounge Access:

If we talk about the airport lounge access of HDFC Platinum Debit Card, then you get 2 domestic lounge access per quarter for free and in HDFC Millennia Debit Card you get 1 domestic lounge access per quarter for free. Now here in this category Made HDFC’s Platinum Debit Card is a bit better.

Please Note:

Starting from January 1, 2024, you will be eligible for complimentary lounge benefits on all HDFC Debit Cards if your spending in the preceding calendar quarter totals Rs. 5000 or more.

Some important terms and conditions related to the criteria of spending these Rs 5000:

  1. Cash withdrawals from an ATM do not count as valid spending for complimentary access. Only in-store or online purchases made with your HDFC Bank Debit Card are considered as valid spending.
  2. To be eligible for complimentary access, you can either make a single transaction of Rs 5000 or more or accumulate multiple transactions that total Rs 5000 or more, whether in-store or online. Both scenarios are eligible.
  3. For newly onboarded HDFC Bank customers, the feature is available without any conditions for the first two calendar quarters after opening their account.
  4. To meet the minimum spending criteria of Rs 5000 for availing the complimentary lounge feature, the payments must be made using a debit card. Only Point of Sale (POS), Payment Gateway (E-commerce), and Standing Instructions (SI) transactions using the debit card are considered. Mobile wallet-based transactions like Gpay, Phonepe, and Paytm do not qualify.
  5. Credit card bill payments and debit card EMI payments made using your debit card do not count towards meeting the spending criteria of Rs 5000 in a cumulative quarter.

ATM Withdrawal Limit:

In HDFC Platinum Debit Card, you get a withdrawal limit of ₹ 100000 in 1 day and you get a domestic shopping limit of ₹ 500000 in 1 day.

New Change – For security reasons, the daily ATM withdrawal limit on your EasyShop Platinum Debit Card has been capped at ₹2 lakhs.
